I started taking pictures of food and drink as a way to mentally bookmark a stand-out experience. Not only did it help cement the flavors in my mind, and but it served as plating inspiration and reference for my future culinary-recreation experimentation.
Somewhere along the line, I was inspired to see food as art. Rather than layered scenario-story lay-flats, I prefer to get up close and personal, to fully draw out the tactile textures of individual ingredients.
